Apex Medical Center is currently seeking a Billing Collections Specialist to join our team in Las Vegas, NV 89106.

Apex Medical Center is a comprehensive practice and offers services beyond pain management. Patients from the greater Las Vegas area turn to the Apex Medical Center team for help with many different medical conditions, including diabetes, allergies, gastrointestinal issues, skin ailments, and more.
About the Role :
We are a comprehensive medical center offering primary care, pain management, mental health and services at our ambulatory surgical center looking for a full-time medical biller / collector to add to our friendly team.
What You’ll Do :
- Prepare and submit claims to various medical insurance companies electronically and manually.
- Answer questions from clients and insurance companies.
- Identify and resolve client and insurance billing complaints.
- Prepare, review and send client statements.
- Reconcile and post payments.
- Contacting insurance companies and patients on daily basis
- Follow up on delayed and denied claims.
- Analyze accounts receivable aging and claims adjustments.
- Billing of unpaid claims
- Organizing, researching and preparing appeals
- Correspondence and appeal denials done in a timely manner with pro-active follow-up on appeals in process
- Reduce delinquent accounts.
- Update demographics and send out statements.
- Research accounts thoroughly throughout collection processes.
- Handling collections on all unpaid accounts
- Work with patients to develop payment plans
Our Ideal Candidate :
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience of medical billing / collection and coding.
- Familiar with CPT / ICD-10 codes
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Pain management, Primary care, Urgent care experience preferred.
- NextGen, MediTouch, and Collaborate experience preferred
Required Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and comprehend explanation of benefits (EOBs).
- Must be well organized and detail oriented.
- Ability to interface with people using tact and diplomacy.
- Excellent phone etiquette and oral communication skills.
- Patience and ability to manage stress.
- Skilled in negotiation
